Solvang Century 2009
Top: Had to stop at the Santa Maria rest stop
at 60 miles to tighten a water bottle cage that got rattled loose on
the very rough roads of rural Santa Barbara county. I then rode alone
for about 7 miles until Dominion Road where I rode with this guy for
a while as he was pulling a nice pace and showed no signs of tiring.
As it turns out, I rode with him again the last 4 miles into Solvang
flying down Ballard Canyon at 27mph passing everyone else along the
way, fun. He was riding an unmarked titanium frame with a carbon Colnago
fork. Bottom: The above rider and I got caught by a group of 6 riders
including one woman and we rode together for several miles until we
hit a climb where the woman and I got separated off the back. |
