Ride-along: Glendora Mt Road 7-27-08

<br

Top: A group of about a dozen motorcyclists passed us all going fast and leaning into every corner. Then a couple of turns later one of them went down with a broken ninja bike and also a broken leg. Myself and the guy I was riding with stopped and gave him water as only one of the many motorbikes that went by stopped to help. A few riders behind us also stopped. All the bicycle riders continued after we saw that the motorcycle guys had it under control.
Bottom: this is the last mile uphill near the top. You can see 10,000 ft Mt Baldy in the background. the backside of Glendora Mt Road is 5 miles long at mostly 6 1/2 per cent gradient with occasional steeper sections. While that isn't too steep, it comes after at least 15 miles of climbing from any direction.
