November 2010 El Tour

<br

Top: Riding up Snyder road at about 55 miles into the ride. It is about 8% grade from where I took this picture but near the top, which you can see in the picture it jumps to a 11% grade and catches many people in the wrong gear. Below: Riding along Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley, part of my regular ride when in town. Three days after the El Tour I was riding along this road early in the morning and there was 4 ft Diamondback rattlesnake right in the middle of the bike lane. He looked alive, but was not, nipped in the head by a car during the night. The only unusual thing about this find is that it was in the low 50's that night and only in the 60's during the day. I normally would not expect any snake out during these temperatures.
