Top: Dropping down out of the Santa Monica Mountains into the Camarillo valley where strawberries and cabbage were being harvested. Once down on the flats I hooked up with three other riders and for the next 12 miles we rode at 21mph with one guy doing all the work pulling the rest of us along through head and crosswinds. Sweet. I thanked him at an intersection. Some guys get real touchy about riding on their wheel without doing any work, but this guy didn't mind at all.
Below: the only rest stop that I stopped at was at 65 miles at Santa Rosa Road and the 101 freeway. Boyscouts were available to hold your bike while we perused the edibles. The baked goods were exceptional as I had to sample several items to keep myself nourished for the remainder of the ride. Filled my bottles with Lemonade and back on the road.
