Top: Hike-a-bike , one of two such crossings, this one across Sabino wash. The leaders who at this point were about an hour ahead of us actually ride this very sandy section. the rest run, or like my group, walk. Bottom: The race photogs finally got a good pic of myself crossing the finish line. Time 5:50:35 with an overall avg speed of 18.4mph, without the walking time my avg speed was 19.6mph. The winner was a young pro from Mexico who finished in 4:17. The first 60+ rider was John Howard who did it in 4:30. I was the 26th 60+ rider and overall in 1070th place.
